On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for an AI Solutions Architect to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Richmond, BC.
Summary of the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of AI-native application solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role will establish the technical vision, architecture, and engineering standards for AI-enabled application development while remaining hands-on with solution design, prototyping, and reference implementations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define scalable AI architectures, modernize software delivery practices, and help accelerate the adoption of AI-native development methodologies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture for AI-native applications, including application modernization and enterprise AI integrations.
- Develop reusable architecture standards, reference implementations, technical playbooks, and Architecture Definition Documents (ADDs).
- Design and prototype AI solutions using Azure, C#, .NET, Python, and modern AI frameworks.
- Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions, vector search, and agentic AI workflows.
- Define AI development standards, tooling, governance, and software delivery practices.
- Design AI evaluation, testing, observability, monitoring, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, privacy, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Establish CI/CD, deployment, and release management practices for AI-enabled applications.
- Produce architecture recommendations, implementation guidance, and reusable technical assets.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for senior engineering team members.
- Present technical findings, implementation outcomes, and adoption recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Core Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or another STEM discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12+ years of software development and solution or systems architecture experience, including recent hands-on experience delivering AI or LLM-enabled solutions.
- Solid development experience with Python, C#, .NET, Azure, APIs, Git, and Agile delivery practices.
- Hands-on experience designing AI-powered applications using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and agentic AI frameworks.
- Extensive experience designing enterprise cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, including microservices, containers, CI/CD, and MLOps.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or comparable cloud architecture certification.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, LangGraph, Hugging Face, or similar AI frameworks.
- Experience with AI evaluation, benchmarking, observability, and tracing tools.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience delivering enterprise solutions within highly regulated industries.
Terms
This is a contract opportunity based in Richmond, British Columbia. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement with onsite work required three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday), with additional onsite attendance as needed. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, eight hours per day. The contract duration is to be determined.
