Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment to transport freight efficiently and securely
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate deliveries
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition
- Follow all federal, state,
and local transportation laws and company policies at all times
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy vehicles
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
- Robust communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and punctuality
