SCHEDULE: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10am to 6pm, Thursdays & Fridays 8:30am to 4:30pm, and alternating Saturdays (min 4 hour shift). Schedule may change based on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

- Grade 12 Diploma or GED

LICENSES / CERTIFICATES

- National Lifeguard Award – Pool
- Standard First Aid with CPR “C”
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
- Aquafit Instructor
- WHIMIS
- Pool Operator II
- Supervision Evaluation and Enhancement (SEE) Auditor
- Aquatic Supervisor Trainer (AST)
- Swim for Life Instructor Trainer
- National Lifeguard Instructor

EXPERIENCE





- Sound knowledge and/or experience in lifeguarding/instruction duties and teaching methods/group leadership techniques with emphasis on water safety instruction and aquatic skills
- Knowledge and/or experience in performing pool operation and maintenance

SPECIFIC SKILLS

- Sound knowledge of theory and practice, lifeguarding, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid
- Working knowledge of Pool Chemistry
- Ability to prepare facility related records and reports
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Initiative, sound judgement, positive and responsive when dealing with the public, user groups and staff
