Garden Centre Team Member - Nanaimo
Gardenworks Nanaimo is looking for a knowledgeable and friendly garden enthusiast to join our team. This is a hands-on role working across all departments of the garden centre. If you love plants, enjoy helping people, and thrive in a busy indoor/outdoor retail setting, we'd love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assist guests in finding the right plants and products for their gardens and projects
- Share your plant knowledge to help customers make confident, informed choices
- Maintain department presentation — watering, deadheading, tidying, and stocking
- Operate our point-of-sale system Receive and merchandise incoming product
- Support your team across departments as needed throughout the season
WHAT YOU BRING
- A genuine interest in plants and gardening — you don't need to know everything, but you should love learning
- Some working knowledge of gardening & lifestyle
- A friendly, approachable manner with customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, indoor/outdoor retail environment in all weather
- Comfortable with physical tasks — lifting, bending, and being on your feet throughout your shift
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset
AVAILABILITY
This is a part-time position that could lead to full-time. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Compensation starting at $19.00/hr
