Job Title: Senior Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) Specialist – NAV 2009
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 to support, maintain, enhance, and modernize a mission critical ERP environment. This role requires an experienced skilled capable of understanding complex business processes, troubleshooting legacy customizations, and developing new functionality while ensuring system stability.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands on experience with NAV 2009 Classic and RTC environments, understands customized implementations, and is comfortable working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 production environments.
Analyze existing customizations and develop enhancements aligned with business requirements.
Design, develop, test, and deploy modifications using C/AL.
Troubleshoot complex application issues and resolve production incidents.
Review and document legacy customizations, integrations, and business processes.
Collaborate with functional users to gather and refine business requirements.
Perform root cause analysis and recommend long term solutions.
Develop reports, forms, pages, codeunits, XMLports, and dataports.
Support integrations with third party applications and SQL Server.
Participate in upgrade assessments and modernization planning when required.
Provide technical guidance to junior developers and functional consultants.
Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
Ensure solution quality through testing and code reviews.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
Strong expertise with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 (required).
Extensive experience developing customizations using C/AL.
Strong understanding of NAV architecture,



database structure, and application design.
Experience supporting heavily customized NAV environments.
Solid SQL Server knowledge, including querying, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience with NAV Classic Client and RoleTailored Client (RTC).
Ability to analyze complex legacy code and recommend improvements.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NAV versions 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, or 2018.
Exposure to Dynamics 365 Business Central migrations or upgrade projects.
Experience integrating NAV with external applications, APIs, or web services.
Knowledge of Power Platform is considered an asset.
Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, mining, or finance environments is an asset.
