Role Overview

We are seeking an Install Technician with 5+ years of experience who takes immense pride in craftsmanship, precision, and high-end mechanical execution. As the installation lead, you will manage complex equipment replacements and new system builds, ensuring custom sheet metal fabrication, refrigeration lines, and advanced controls are executed to the highest trade standards. In this role, you will also act as a seamless bridge to our service team through meticulous commissioning and quality handovers.

Key Responsibilities

- Precision System Installation: Drive the end-to-end installation and replacement of diverse HVAC equipment from high-efficiency furnaces, AC units, cold-climate heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits to complex residential and commercial mechanical systems.
- Refrigeration & Piping Mastery: Execute all installation tasks with exceptional detail, including precision brazing, clean line-set routing, nitrogen-purged system evacuations, and leak-tight charging in strict adherence to environmental and regulatory standards.
- Custom Sheet Metal & Layout Work: Measure, adapt, and install custom ductwork transitions, plenums, and air-distribution components to ensure optimal airflow dynamics and a clean, high-end visual aesthetic.
- Hydronic & Boiler Setups: Assemble,



pipe, and wire premium boiler systems, hydronic air handlers, in-floor and snow-melt heating manifolds, and pump groups to deliver turnkey, high-efficiency mechanical rooms.
- Commissioning & Quality Control: Perform rigorous system start-ups, verifying gas pressures, airflow, electrical loads, and refrigerant charges to guarantee new equipment operates at peak factory efficiency prior to client handover.
- Technical Mentorship: Lead by example on job sites by coaching assistant installers in clean installation techniques, proper tool handling, and code compliance to build solid trade skills across the team.
- Client Engagement & Site Management: Maintain immaculate job sites, conduct client walk-throughs upon completion, demonstrate system controls and smart thermostats, and represent the Excel brand with professionalism.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture on every job site, ensuring strict compliance with TSSA standards, local building codes, OHSA regulations, and Excel’s internal safety protocols.

Required Qualifications & Licenses

- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience.
- Trade License: Valid 313D license is required (313A is an asset).
- Gas License: G2 is required (G1 is an asset).
- Driver’s License: Valid Class G with a clean record.
- Safety: Current WHMIS, ODP and Working at Heights certifications.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
