Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The competencies for this position would be acquired through successful completion of a university degree in Communications or a related field plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in corporate communications or public relations within a large public organization.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Advanced written and oral communication skills to develop and implement communication strategies, plans and a variety of communication materials, including web and social media content.
Solid knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques of strategic communications
Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to recognize political and other sensitivities, and develop credibility with internal stakeholders through communication
Advanced knowledge of standard office tools including word processing,
web-based and presentation software
Solid project management and time management skills
Solid working knowledge of electronic publishing and social media
Solid analytical and problem solving skills
Solid supervisory and people management skills
Other Information
The Senior Advisor role on the Capital Project Communications team is largely responsible managing the communications planning, oversight and strategy for a number of customer facing files. This is a critical role that works across the TransLink enterprise to communicate the delivery of new infrastructure and system-wide maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong writing and relationship building background and the ability to solve problems with creative solutions in a collaborative setting.
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
This is a full-time temporary position with an approximate end date of 03/16/2028.
Work Designation
Hybrid
This position offers the flexibility of working both in office and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $84,480 - $126,720 per annum.
Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
