The Industrial Powder Painter/Coater performs a variety of services related to the surface preparation and painting of manufactured products.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Operates powder coat and wet application equipment to ensure a quality paint job is applied to all required surfaces and mechanical bond is achieved.
- Maintains all related equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Safely operates lift trucks to move materials around as needed.
- Masks equipment prior to blasting and painting operations as needed.
- Communicates with supervisor and abrasive blaster to ensure priority schedule is followed.
- Participate in continual improvement activities and the identification & resolution of problems.
- Comply with all company rules, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a protected and organized work area.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Lifting, of up to 75 pounds,
is required. Considerable walking, climbing of stairs and extended reaching may be required. Will have to work with various power and manual tools, including (but not limited to) an air-fed paint pot and spray gun, air ventilation system, and forklift. Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in surface preparation, powder coat and wet paint application environment
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Work with limited supervision and direction
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
