As a Customer Account Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for multiple customers and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment. Primary duties include:
- Discuss operational needs with internal and external customers. Recommend and negotiate approaches for servicing vehicles and equipment and revisit approaches based on changing priorities.
- Meet with internal departments and external vendors to discuss items such as outsourcing requirements, priority of work, costs and timing of service while managing vendor performance by discussing issues and taking action to ensure excellent service.
- Schedule the inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment while considering operational needs, seasonal requirements, manpower, vendor availability and legislated requirements for vehicles and equipment inspections.
- Review estimated costs of repairs for approval - consider life cycle, age,
legislative requirements and the potential for replacement.
- Provide updates to customers on the status of vehicle and equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Qualifications
- A Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or Automotive Services Technician (AST) certificate or a related trade and at least 5 years of experience working as a certified HET or AST including 3 years of journeyman experience working in trade and 2 years working in a vehicle and/or equipment coordination role in the vehicle and equipment maintenance industry; OR
- A completed 2 year diploma in Business or related discipline and at least 3 years of experience working in the vehicle maintenance industry, including a minimum of 2 years working in a vehicle and/or equipment coordination role.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent).
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is considered an asset.
- Strong business acumen, conflict resolution, negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to respond to varying and conflicting interests and react effectively to urgent situations.
Working Conditions: Although most of the work will be done in the office, employees will regularly visit the shop to perform duties such as inspecting repairs, where they are subjected to conditions such as vehicle and equipment exhaust, noise, dirt and debris.
Pre-employment Requirements
- Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
Position and Pay Information
- Business Unit: Fleet and Inventory
- Union: CUPE Local 38
- Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 23 months)
- Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $41.49 - 55.51 per hour
- Hours of work: Non-standard 40 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 4 day work week, with 10 hour shifts. Shifts vary Monday to Thursday (6:00AM - 4:30PM).
