Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Lead to oversee the daily flow of incoming and outgoing shipments in a quick-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building custom wooden shipping crates, coordinating freight and courier shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped safely and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and takes pride in delivering quality work. They anticipate shipping needs, communicate effectively with production, and help ensure customer deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

- Build custom wooden crates and shipping supports using hand and power tools to protect products during transportation.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging, labeling, securing, and verifying products for shipment.
- Coordinate daily freight, courier, and LTL shipments, including scheduling pickups and preparing shipping documentation.
- Review upcoming shipping schedules and work proactively with production to ensure products are completed and available for shipment on time.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Receive incoming materials, inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies, and verify quantities against purchase orders.
- Perform quality inspections on outgoing products to ensure they meet shipping requirements and company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions, shipping records, and labour reporting within the ERP system.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and maintaining organized warehouse and storage areas.
- Maintain a safe,



clean, and efficient shipping and receiving area while following all health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience building custom wooden crates or protective shipping solutions using hand and power tools.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts safely.
- Experience coordinating freight, courier, and LTL shipments.
- Experience using an ERP or inventory management system.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to read a tape measure and work accurately with dimensions and specifications.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
