Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the CHARGE TECHNOLOGIST, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of Shared Health the Senior Radiology Technologist– MRT performs assigned Diagnostic duties in accordance with their scope of training and experience. The Senior Radiology Technologist– MRT assist radiologist in performance of radiologic procedures, assist with training and orientation of technologist, participates in instructing students, provides direct patient care, administrative and operational support functions required as part of the multi-disciplinary team approach of service delivery. As well as other duties as assigned.
Experience

Patient care experience preferred.

A minimum of three years’ experience as a General Duty Radiology Technologist.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)





Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology.

Successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists certification exam (CAMRT).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Must be in good standing with CAMRT-MB.

Qualifications and Skills

Completion of a formal management training program or health care administration course is an asset.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position including being able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.

Must demonstrate the use of secure and effective body mechanics while working with clients.

Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.

Must be able to lift and position clients, some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.

May be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits).

May be required to occasionally work extended hours.

May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.

May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.

Must be able to push/pull portable equipment is a safe manner.

May be required to work with provincial safety and health officer or other employees in the continuous development of safe work practices/place.
