Role Overview
The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of our commercial, institutional, and light industrial mechanical projects by coordinating drawings, information, materials, and field communication between project managers, foremen, and other trades.
Working primarily in the office (with regular site visits as required), this role ensures that shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and material orders are accurate, timely, and aligned with project requirements and Canstar’s quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Review mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope, conflicts, and coordination issues.
- Assist in producing and coordinating mechanical shop drawings and as‑builts in collaboration with project managers, foremen, and drafting partners.
- Prepare, track, and follow up on RFIs and submittals to consultants, GCs, and clients.
- Maintain up‑to‑date drawing logs and ensure current drawings are issued to site supervisors and field crews.

Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of construction‑related experience in mechanical / plumbing / HVAC work, preferably in commercial or institutional projects.
- Understanding of mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, gas, HVAC, sprinklers) and relevant codes and standards.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and submittals, and identifying coordination issues between trades.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively with office staff, field crews, clients, and other trades.
- Proficient with basic computer tools (email, Excel, PDF markup); experience with construction management or drawing software is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract; able to travel to sites across the Lower Mainland as required.
- Reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
