NOVA MACHINE WORKS is expanding operations. We are actively seeking a full time apprentice Laser Welder-Fabricator. We have been growing for the past 30 years, supplying parts to the mining industry, marine, rail and other heavy industries.

Build projects that matter—not the same part every day. As a junior Laser Welder-Fabricator you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components and assemblies from engineering drawings and work instructions. In addition to laser welding you will be operating a CNC bending machine, MIG/TIG welding, grinding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components up to 1-inch thick for various applications from mining to all terrain sports vehicles.

You'll fabricate and weld custom components and assemblies using:

- Laser welding and some MIG/TIG processes
- Carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Material from light gauge up to 1-inch plate

Your responsibilities will also include:

- Bending aluminum and steel on our CNC bender.
- Cutting, fitting, tack welding, and final welding
- Grinding and finishing welded assemblies
- Working closely with machinists and fabricators on custom projects
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work area
- Contributing ideas that improve shop efficiency and quality

Ideally, you have:





- Apprentice or welder with 1-2 years equivalent experience.
- Experience with laser welding is required.
- Experience with MIG/TIG on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Ability to weld material up to 1-inch thickness.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.
- Physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
