Overview

We are seeking a strategic, results-orientedCategory Manager to join our client and the Procurement team in the Mississauga area. Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for developing and executing category strategies while managing global strategic supplier relationships. The Category Manager will lead sourcing initiatives, negotiate commercial agreements and contract terms, identify cost optimization opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver value, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and category strategy within a global environment.

-Develop and execute category strategies that align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable value.

-Manage global strategic supplier relationships, serving as the primary commercial contact for assigned categories.

-Lead complex sourcing initiatives, including RFx processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.

-Negotiate commercial terms and conditions, pricing, service levels, and contractual agreements to achieve optimal business outcomes.

-Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, supplier consolidation, and value creation while balancing quality, service, and risk.





-Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop sourcing strategies that support operational and strategic priorities.

-Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

-Conduct market research, spend analysis, benchmarking, and supplier assessments to identify trends and sourcing opportunities.

-Perform financial analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations, forecasting, and business case development to support procurement decisions.

-Lead cross-functional projects and manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously while ensuring timelines and objectives are achieved.

-Present recommendations, sourcing strategies, and project updates to senior leadership.

-Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and contractual obligations.

-Support risk management initiatives related to supplier performance, supply continuity, and commercial agreements.

Job Requirements:

· Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or a related supply chain function.

· Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business,



or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

· Demonstrated experience managing strategic supplier relationships and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data, assess business requirements, develop recommendations, and communicate financial implications.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting.

· Excellent presentation and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.

· Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, establish priorities, and deliver results within deadlines.

· Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong collaboration, facilitation, active listening, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.

Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
