Start-End Date: 1 year contract, with possible extension

Location: Montreal, In office

Schedule: Full-time and Part time

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Caseworker to provide direct support to newcomer clients, helping them meet their basic needs, navigate essential services, and develop individualized settlement plans. The ideal candidate is empathetic, culturally sensitive, and knowledgeable about refugee pathways.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct intake interviews and needs assessments for new clients.

- Provide individualized case management and follow-up support.

- Assist clients in accessing housing, employment, healthcare, financial aid, education, and legal support.

- Refer clients to appropriate internal and external services.

- Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and records.

- Support crisis intervention efforts (e.g., for clients experiencing homelessness, abuse, or medical emergencies).

- Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to coordinate care and support.

- Hold and facilitate workshops in small group settings to assist and inform newcomers on topics related to housing or healthcare.

- Coordinate and execute department-related projects.

Qualifications

- Degree or diploma in social work,



community services, social sciences, or a related field is an asset.

- Experience working with refugee or marginalized populations.

- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Fluency in French, English and Arabic or a third language is required.

- Proficiency in English or another language is required for this position in order to communicate with a predominantly English-speaking or allophone clientele.

- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

- Experience with trauma-informed care or crisis response.

- A driver's license holder is considered an asset.

- Experience in case management in housing or emergency shelter services is considered an asset.

- Familiarity with IFHP, RAMQ, and Canadian social support systems is considered an asset.

Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday Day Off
