Position available for a graphics/prepress operator familiar with print production. We are a local commercial print shop who supplies print and signage needs to business customers. We have a casual, team oriented environment, where we support each other when needed.

You are a self motivated, hard working individual, with a willingness to learn and improve. You are professional and enjoy working with people to help them find the best print solutions.

Note that this position is primarily advising customers, preparing files and setting it up for print. It is customer facing and you will be conversing on a daily basis. Your ability to communicate well is top priority. Customer service, with a mix of design/layout and hands-on work.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- greeting customers, advising them on print needs
- answering phone calls, emails, online inquiries
- prepress, preparing files with correct bleed, colour correction, sizing and layout per print requirements
- order processing, talking to customers and advising them on the best product solutions
- supporting with administrative duties: invoicing, packaging, courier
- purchasing, dealing with vendors, acquiring quotes
- learning about all the print products we produce, different papers & substrates, understanding colour basics so you may advise customers
- quoting, basic pricing calculations for various products
- design layout for brochures, books, business cards, menus, logos etc.
- other duties as needed

Required Skills:




- at least 1 year experience print production is required
- proficient in ms word, excel, powerpoint
- must have good math skills necessary for understanding basic pricing, numbering, reading spreadsheets
- advanced knowledge of Adobe software, specifically Indesign, Illustrator, Acrobat
- understanding colour profiling, separations, transparencies, cmyk/rgb
- valuable eye, great attention to detail
- advanced fluency in english written/oral
- ability to learn tasks quickly and work independently
- must be able to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks and react quickly to a changing requests or designing on tight deadlines
- completion of secondary school
- punctual, dependable
