We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sign Installer to join the Deftbay Inc. team on a casual, on-call basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of custom neon signs, LED signage, and related display fixtures across commercial and residential locations. This role requires a solid eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering clean, professional installations that reflect our brand's quality standards. Hours are not guaranteed and will be assigned based on project volume — you will only be contacted when installation work is available.

Responsibilities

- Install custom neon signs, LED flex signs, acrylic displays, and wall-mounted signage at client locations
- Safely mount and secure signage using appropriate fasteners, brackets, and hardware for various wall surfaces (drywall, brick, concrete, glass)
- Read and follow installation diagrams, client instructions, and placement specifications
- Test electrical connections and ensure signs power on correctly post-installation
- Communicate professionally with clients on-site and represent Deftbay Inc. with care
- Transport and handle signage carefully to avoid damage during delivery and install




- Photograph completed installations for quality assurance and marketing purposes
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all installations meet safety standards
- Report any installation issues, damages, or client concerns promptly

Requirements

- Minimum 1–2 years experience in sign installation, general contracting, or a related trade
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power drills, levels, and wall anchoring systems
- Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical connections (neon/LED power supplies)
- Ability to safely work at heights using ladders or scaffolding
- Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, precise workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various indoor/outdoor environments
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Smartphone required for job communication, photo documentation, and navigation

Nice to Have

- Previous experience installing neon, LED, or illuminated signage
- WHMIS certification or Fall Protection training
- Own basic tools (drill, level, anchors)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
