Job Summary
We have several upcoming multi-family projects in the Thunder Bay Area and are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Superintendent to oversee construction projects, ensure quality standards, and lead field teams effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with industry-specific software. This role is pivotal in coordinating daily operations, maintaining safety standards, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
Support in relocation including assisting securing housing are available for the right candidate.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide team work
- Manage subcontractors and labor crews, assigning tasks and monitoring performance
- Utilize construction management software such as Bluebeam, Sharepoint, Excel and other programs for project tracking and documentation
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets safety and quality standards
- Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement processes
- Oversee safety protocols to maintain a secure work setting for all personnel
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution
- Prepare progress reports and communicate updates effectively to stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in construction or related fields
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including Bluebeam and other industry tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction estimating documents
- Familiarity with construction quality control procedures and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective leadership skills with a focus on team coordination and problem-solving
- Knowledge of budgeting processes related to construction projects
- Construction background with hands-on experience in various trades preferred
- Certification or training in construction management or related areas is a plus
