Electronic Technician/Technologist – RF, Test & Production (Manufacturing / R&D;)
Location: Barrie, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Electronic Technologist to support both manufacturing and R&D; activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the bench, building, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting communication and RF-based electronic equipment in a small-team production shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform bench-level testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of RF and communication products
- Operate spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and
standard RF/electronic test equipment
- Support prototype builds and new product development alongside engineering
- Assemble and rework electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses
- Perform precision PCB soldering (through-hole and SMT) to quality standards
- Assist with small-batch production, assembly, and repairs
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions
- Document test results, rework activities, and production findings
- Follow ESD, safety, and quality control procedures
Qualifications
• College Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology / Electronics Technologist — required
- 3-5 Experience in a manufacturing, production, or R&D; electronics environment
- Must be a Canadian citizen or have a permanent residency status and a clean criminal record.
- Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals and test methods
- Proficient using electronic and RF test equipment
- Solid PCB soldering and electronic assembly skills (SMT & through-hole)
- Ability to diagnose and repair board-level and system-level issues
- Comfortable working hands-on in a shop/bench environment
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork
Assets
• Experience with RF amplifiers, telecom hardware, or communication systems
- Familiarity with prototype and low-volume production workflows
- Knowledge of IPC soldering standards or certification
- Experience working in small technical teams
