CREATIVE THERAPY ASSOCIATES provides individualized, evidence based therapy for children, youth and young adults on the autism spectrum and with other exceptionalities. We are committed to a multidisciplinary approach and our practices are centered on positive engagement with the clients we service and their families. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team in the position of Supervised Behavior Therapist. Supervised Behavior Therapists work on a one to one basis with the children and youth in our intervention programs. Intervention/therapy takes places in the child/youth’s home, school or in our centre. We fully train new staff at the centre, though a diploma in a related field is required for this position.
Work Performed:
- Providing therapy to children with autism on a one-on-one basis or group setting, according to programs designed by the treatment team under the supervision of a supervising therapist or RBA. This involves teaching children skills across many domains such as: communication, language, play, social, motor, developmental and academic skills
- Collecting and recording data
- Supporting clients with personal care as needed
- Maintaining client charts and graphs
- Completing weekly activity reports
- Participating in team meetings
Qualifications:
- The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma in the human service field
- Background in autism intervention and/or a related field (CYW, DSW, ECE, Psychology)
- Valid police records check with vulnerable sector
- Computer literacy (excel, word, google docs, powerpoint)
