Position Overview
The Pastry Cook will contribute to the creation of exquisite pastries and desserts, maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality. This is a casual position with a 3-month contract.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries and desserts.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Chef de Cuisine.
- Contribute to the creative process of developing new pastry items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in the pastry kitchen.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure consistency in quality.
- Support in the preparation and setup for special events and functions.
- Assist in the proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification, with a focus on pastry arts.
- Previous experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role.
- Passion for pastry and desserts, with a keen eye for detail.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a culinary setting.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift equipment, and work in a dynamic kitchen environment.
