Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour

About the Position:

Mowatt Canine Company is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Kennel and Day School Attendant. This hands-on, fast-paced role involves dog supervision and handling, cleaning, customer service, and general facility support.

The position will begin with part-time hours during the summer, supporting both our Day School and kennel operations. Flexible availability is a significant asset during the summer portion of the position.

**Beginning in the fall, the position will transition to a full-time schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.**

Responsibilities:

- Supervising and safely handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Supporting structured Day School activities and daily routines
- Monitoring dog behaviour and helping maintain safe, appropriate play groups
- Providing daily care for dogs staying at the facility
- Cleaning and sanitizing crates, kennels, equipment, yards, work areas,



and shared spaces
- Assisting clients during drop-off and pick-up
- Processing payments and providing professional customer service
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Following established animal-handling, safety, and cleaning procedures
- Supporting the team with daily operational tasks as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability is a significant asset
- Available to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. beginning in the fall
- Reliable transportation to and from our Upper Brookside facility is required
- Customer service or animal-care experience is considered an asset but is not required
