Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Chiropodist / Foot Nurse, where you will play a vital role in delivering specialized foot care services to diverse patient populations. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work at new clinic at Almonte which is growing fast. As a key member of our clinical team, you will assess, treat, and educate patients with a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions, ensuring optimal mobility and comfort. Your expertise will contribute to improved quality of life for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to seniors, including those with complex medical needs such as dementia or hospice care.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive foot assessments for patients in hospital, nursing home, or home care settings, identifying issues related to mobility, pain, or infection
- Provide expert treatment including wound care, nail trimming, callus removal, and orthotic recommendations tailored to individual patient needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address specific conditions such as diabetes-related foot problems or neurological impairments
- Educate patients and caregivers on foot health maintenance, proper footwear selection, and injury prevention strategies
- Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner




- Assist with medication administration related to foot care treatments and ensure adherence to medical protocols
- Participate in case management activities for complex cases involving chronic conditions or post-operative recovery

Skills

- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations in nursing homes, hospitals, or assisted living facilities
- Robust background in acute care environments with familiarity in managing urgent foot-related issues
- Experience providing dementia care, hospice support, or pediatrics is highly desirable
- Skilled in medical terminology relevant to podiatry and general healthcare practices
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy is a plus for comprehensive patient assessments
- Ability to navigate electronic health records efficiently using platforms like Epic or Cerner
- Excellent patient care skills with an empathetic approach tailored to seniors and individuals with complex medical needs
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and pain management strategies
- Experience working in home care settings and delivering personalized treatment plans
