Responsibilities
- Monthly accounting close processes
- Prepare journal entries including accruals and fixed asset depreciation
- Prepare analytical analyses as required
- Monthly account reconciliations, including balance analysis and ensuring accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Record inter‑company transactions, ensuring all accounts are balanced
- Prepare monthly reporting package(s)
- Assist in maintaining adequate internal controls
- Assist external and internal auditors during year‑end and interim financial audits/reviews
- Perform ad‑hoc reporting to support operations
- Assist other team members with corporate projects/assignments
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization, including management
- Utilize problem‑solving, analytical and organizational skills to understand the business and accounting processes
- Assist with improvement initiatives for data collection and reporting automation
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting and/or Finance, Canadian Professional Accountant designation preferred
- Minimum 3 years related experience in manufacturing industry and/or cost accounting background preferred
- Excellent skills in MS Office Suite with advanced or expert level skillset in Excel
- Experience with Oracle; Hyperion systems desirable
- Self‑starter who can work independently and is adaptable with initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and analytical skills; results driven, accountable and able to meet tight deadlines
- Pro‑active spirit, good communication skills, team oriented and collaborative working style
- Exposure to IFRS reporting beneficial
