The position reports to the CFO.Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial operations across a diversified group of entities, including not-for-profit, holding, and operating companies in Canada and the United States. This role leads all day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning processes, ensuring solid controls, consistent practices, and reliable information to support decision-making and organizational growth. The Controller partners closely with the CFO to translate strategic direction into effective financial execution.Job Duties
Lead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across all entitiesPrepare and consolidate financial statementsEnsure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reportingDeliver variance analysis and insights to support leadership decision-makingOversee all accounting functions (GL, AP, AR)Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entitiesStandardize accounting policies and procedures across the organizationEnsure consistent application of accounting practicesLead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes across all business unitsCollaborate and support functional business leaders with reporting,
data and informationDevelop and maintain financial models supporting planning activitiesMonitor performance against budget and provide regular variance reportingEnsure financial plans align with strategic priorities set by the CFO and management teamCoordinate tax filings and compliance requirements across Canada and the United StatesSupport external audits and regulatory requirements, including not-for-profit considerationsMaintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policiesSupport risk management processes in partnership with the CFOOwn and optimize day-to-day use of ERP and financial systemsEnsure financial data integrity across systemsIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalabilityEnsure consistency and reliability of financial and operational dataAct as a designated backup for payroll processingMentor and support development of finance team members (if applicable)Occasional travel may be required (approximately 5%)Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field;
CPA required5–10+ yearsof progressive accounting/finance experienceExperience with multi-entity organizations;
cross-border exposure (Canada/US) is an assetStrong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and complianceAdvanced Excel and ERP/system experienceHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and process disciplineAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesWe are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified individuals. 95,000 – 120,000 CADThe posted pay range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role;
however, final salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.
