$94,900 to $118,900Please note this position requires the successful incumbent to relocate to Williams Lake, BC, or the surrounding area. This is not a permanent remote working position.Core Responsibilities
Oversee the operation and maintenance of networks, servers, and other core systems.Plan for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.Establish, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of logging procedures to meet IT security requirements.Configure and maintain remote access and underlying security provisions.Maintain communications systems (VOIP systems, mobile phones).Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Mentor and cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.Education & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, or equivalent experience.5+ years experience in a related IT field.5-10 years' experience in mining or industrial settings is an asset.IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, or other related fields are a plus.Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.Experience with multi-domain Windows environments and server products (Azure,
Exchange, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365).Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, or VPN.Familiarity with database management systems like Microsoft SQL or MySQL.Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.Experience with NAS and virtual environment design and support (NetApp, VMware).On-premise and cloud-based IP phone PBX systems.Experience maintaining security of systems through patching, configuration, and monitoring.Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Experience in developing and executing disaster recovery plans for managed systems.Experience writing technical documentation of systems.Experience using helpdesk ticketing systems.Able to prioritize work in a large complex environment.Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with staff at all levels and communicate with both technical and non-technical people.Valid driver's license.Compensation & Perks
