Overview
Heart & Stroke is looking for a Platform Engineering Senior Manager to lead a team of business analysts and platform engineering resources. The role is responsible for technology selection, planning, delivery, evolution and operational excellence of the organization’s enterprise digital platforms. This hybrid position is based in Canada and may be worked from anywhere in the country.Responsibilities
Provide hands‑on technical leadership across platform solutioning, architecture, integration, and delivery.Lead the end‑to‑end execution lifecycle for platform projects — discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and transition to operations.Drive technology selection, architecture evaluation, integration planning, and technical due diligence for enterprise platforms, with a focus on CMS/DXP modernization, CRM evolution and adjacent domains (e.G., HRIS, grant management).Plan and manage technology migration and operational transition for modern CMS/DXP (e.G., Contentful, Sitecore, Optimizely).Collaborate with the Director, Application & Platform Engineering and cross‑functional teams (Product, Data, Security, Infrastructure & Operations, etc.) to align strategy, priorities and delivery sequencing.Build and scale the platform engineering function, establishing leadership capacity across platform domains and ensuring clear ownership, delegation and delivery.Mentor and coach technical leads, manage vendor and partner relationships, and drive continuous improvement of delivery and operational practices.Ensure governance for change management, configuration, versioning, release management and operational transition.Drive the adoption of AI‑enabled capabilities where they add measurable business value,



maintaining guardrails for quality, security and privacy.Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and progressive professional experience.Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of technical leadership experience leading teams of engineers and analysts.8‑10+ years of experience in platform engineering, architecture, and technical solution design across complex environments.Proven experience leading modern CMS/DXP implementations and migrations to operations.Experience in enterprise platform selection, architecture evaluation, integration planning and scalability/security considerations.Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (Azure preferred, or GCP) and distributed systems.Experience with APIs, integration patterns, event‑driven architecture and data flows.Strong vendor and partner management skills with delivery oversight and knowledge transfer.Experience with AI‑enabled capabilities and implementation of guardrails.Skills
Leadership, coaching, and team building in a fast‑evolving environment.Robust communication of complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Solid understanding of platform architecture, integration patterns, APIs, event‑driven patterns,



data flows, and solution design.Experience with CMS/DXP systems (e.G., Contentful, Sitecore, Optimizely) and related marketing ecosystems.Experience supporting or leading enterprise platform selection (CRM, HRIS, grant management, etc.).Practical experience with code frameworks (React, Node.Js, JavaScript, Python).Application of security‑by‑design principles across architecture, development and delivery.Ability to design and implement governance practices and operational transition plans.Experience with AI‑enabled platform enhancements.What We Offer
