At Traynor's Bakery Wholesale Ltd., our order pickers play an essential role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of products to our valued customers. You will operate warehouse equipment in order to build and ship predetermined customer orders. An order picker must always arrive on time and be comfortable with spending long hours on their feet. As an order picker, you must be knowledgeable, energetic, resourceful and possess an ability to "pick up" on small details.
Primary Tasks:
- Use pick documents to accurately and effectively retrieve product throughout the entirety of the warehouse (main warehouse, fridge, freezers etc.)
- Operation of machinery (walkie, forklift, reach truck, order picker etc.)
- Prepare and stage orders in correct area for loading
- Load and unload outgoing/ incoming trucks
- Ensure all safety regulations are followed
- Ensure all predetermined warehouse goals are met
- Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions
- Adhere to health and safety policies as well as quality standards
- Ensure warehouse is consistently clean and organized
- Perform other general warehouse duties as required
Required Skills, Experience & Education:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset
- Previous forklift experience is an asset
- Ability to work in below freezing temperatures (up to -20°C)
- Ability to read and write at an advanced level
- Must work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Exceptional physical strength and stamina
- Diligent and punctual
- Superb attention to detail
