Bartech Staffing is a leading engineering, technical and professional staffing firm. Our client has engaged us to assist in hiring a contract Body Component Engineer (Windsor, Ontario).

Job Details

- Work onsite, a couple of days a week.
- Some travel to the US for meetings.
- Hourly pay: $38.00 - $40.00.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release of body components. Other responsibilities include quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives, and communicating technical product status to management.

The Exterior Lighting Engineer is responsible for packaging requirements, lighting performance, lighting system behavior/validation of the vehicle's headlamps, fog lamps, tail lamps, CHMSL (center stop light), license plate lamps, side marker lamps, cargo and bed lamps.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
- 3 years of engineering experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge of halogen and LED technology.
- Demonstrable knowledge of thermal management, optical evaluations, finite element analysis, and electronics.
- Track record of strong leadership.
- Must be self‑directed.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to support the design/development process.
- Knowledge of lamp technologies, design practices and regulatory compliance specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
- Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma process and/or Green Belt certification.
- Knowledge of reactive problem solving and/or Green Belt certification.
- Trained in DVP&R; and DFMEA.
- Knowledge of process standards,



advanced LED and laser technology.
- Automotive lighting experience and broad vehicle knowledge.
- Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management.
- Hands‑on vehicle experience.
- Experience managing suppliers and/or other team members.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills, self‑directed and self‑motivated, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Detail‑oriented, team player, flexible, and ability to prioritize.
- Working knowledge of NX/Teamcenter.
