Lead Electrical Designer | Drive Complex Industrial Projects and Mentor High-Performing Design Teams Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Designer in the energy sector in a hybrid work environment in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Designer to provide technical leadership and design oversight on multidisciplinary industrial projects. This role combines hands-on electrical design expertise with team leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and constructible electrical design solutions.
You'll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, project teams, and stakeholders while mentoring junior team members and driving project success from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of skilled Electrical Designers and Technologists Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams Contribute to complex brownfield and greenfield project developments
A typical day: Lead the development and delivery of electrical layouts, cable routing, grounding, lighting,
and installation design packages Coordinate and oversee daily activities of Electrical Designers to meet project schedules and deliverables Review and approve design drawings for quality, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams throughout project execution Facilitate interdisciplinary design reviews and support 3D model coordination activities Mentor junior designers and promote continuous improvement of design practices and standards
Requirements Hold a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, or a related discipline
Possess extensive electrical design experience within EPC/EPCM, engineering consulting, or industrial project environments
Demonstrate experience leading electrical design teams or acting as a discipline design lead on projects
Apply strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including cable management, grounding, lighting, and equipment layouts
Utilize industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Smart Plant, AVEVA E3D, Revit, or similar design platforms
Understand and apply applicable electrical codes and standards including CSA, NEC, IEC, and project-specific requirements
