Ausenco is a fast‑growing consulting firm delivering innovative, value‑add solutions in complex projects across the globe. We are looking for a Department Manager, Mechanical to join our Burlington Office (Hybrid).About The Role
Manage a mechanical engineering team within required time frames and standards, supervising performance, reviewing deliverables and providing high‑level technical expertise.Contribute to cost‑efficient delivery by managing the man‑hour budget, reviewing and approving capital cost estimates, and recommending alternative approaches when appropriate.Ensure current technical standards, reference materials, software programs and tools are available for the discipline.Review and approve discipline‑specific project execution strategies and engineering plans with the assigned Mechanical lead.Arrange for technical reviews as specified in operating procedures and the project execution plan.Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.Collaborate with leadership teams in other offices to enable appropriate inter‑office resource sharing.In collaboration with People & Performance, manage recruitment and selection of required resources, hiring top performers and managing workload.Provide guidance and knowledge to engineers and group members to support personal and professional development.Manage group performance through reviews and offering technical and leadership support where required.Foster a customer‑focused team setting that promotes openness, trust, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and high‑quality performance for client satisfaction.About You




Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.15+ years of proven technical and management experience in an engineering consulting firm or large organization;
construction experienceis desirable.Experience in Minerals & Metals and Oil & Gas industries.Experience leading and guiding engineering teams.Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).Track record managing multiple projects simultaneously or a single major‑size project.Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering specifications, industry standards, practices, and applicable codes, acts and regulations.Strong problem‑solving and organization skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines while providing exceptional client service.Understanding of financial reports and project budgets.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Willingness to travel.Expected Salary
