Lead community health initiatives as a Volunteer Program Coordinator for City of Burnaby. This full time position focuses on engaging volunteers to promote independent living and wellness for citizens.
As a key member of the Citizen's Support unit, you will plan and implement various city-wide volunteer programs. Your role includes coordinating recreational activities, recruiting and training volunteers, and ensuring their alignment with community needs.
By fostering connections with citizens, you'll enhance their quality of life through diverse programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement volunteer programs for seniors and disabled citizens
- Schedule recreational bus trips for community participants
- Recruit, interview, and train volunteers
- Conduct orientation sessions and performance reviews for volunteers
- Maintain records and reports related to program operations
Requirements:
- Graduation from a recognized volunteer management program
- Knowledge of community resources and relevant regulations
- Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5
- St. John's First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
- Police Information Check may be necessary
