Join an creative team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on manufacturing and welding processes. This role requires advanced skills in SolidWorks to create practical designs that enhance production.
You will be responsible for designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling systems that meet customer specifications and withstand the rigors of the shop floor. Your role involves close collaboration with production and fabrication teams to ensure all designs uphold manufacturing constraints while embracing GD&T; principles. You'll also refine designs based on feedback, striving for continuous improvement in fixture utility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop tooling systems emphasizing manufacturability and efficiency - Create robust 3D models using SolidWorks - Work with production teams to meet welding constraints - Address design challenges related to fit-up and weld access - Provide mentorship to junior designers on fixture design
Requirements: - 5 to 8+ years of relevant design experience - Advanced SolidWorks skills - Extensive experience with welding project requirements - Understanding of GD&T; and mechanical principles - Ability to convert designs into practical solutions
