Technical Business Analyst (Equity & Fixed Income)

12-18 months - Toronto Hybrid (4x a week in office)
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Trading, MO, and Risk to capture requirements and support trade capture, pricing, risk, and reporting workflows.
- Perform technical and operational tasks (workplace checks, EOL remediation, account administration).
- Support production incidents through investigation, data analysis, and coordination with Tech and Vendors.
- Maintain clear documentation: BRDs/FRDs/TRDs, runbooks, process flows, and Wiki pages.
- Lead testing activities, including test design, execution, defect management, and UAT support.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies; support PI planning and cross‑team coordination.
- Assist with internal/external audits through evidence gathering and remediation tracking.
- Manage multiple workstreams with strong prioritization and timely delivery.
Required Skills
- Capital markets knowledge across Bonds, Rates, Credit, and Mortgages.
- Experience working in Agile teams; PI planning exposure is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills; SQL proficiency for data validation.
- Ability to multi‑task, work independently, and execute deliverables on time.
- Experience with vendor platforms and trade lifecycle processes.
- Strong documentation and communication abilities.
- Understanding of PnL and risk measures and valuation concepts.
- Experience supporting audits, controls, and evidence preparation.
- Proficient in productivity AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT for daily workflow optimization.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Bloomberg TOMS, Broadridge, MHUB or similar platforms.
- Experience with TMX, CCMS, CDS, FMCNET
- Python or scripting for analysis/automation.
- Familiarity with FRTB, SA‑CCR, IFRS 9/CECL, or mortgage analytics.
- Relevant certifications (CFA, FRM, SAFe/CSM/PSM).
