About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Communications and Government Relations to lead the integration of internal and external communication strategies and government relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting and enhancing the company's reputation, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and positioning the company as a trusted thought leader. This senior executive role requires a strategic, values-driven leader with deep expertise in enterprise communications, media relations, public affairs, and government relations. The VP will provide trusted counsel to the CEO, Board, and Executive Leadership, oversee media relations,

and guide crisis and issues management. Additionally, the role involves building and stewarding the company's government relations and public policy agenda, engaging with various levels of government, and integrating public policy intelligence into the company's strategy.

Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree being an asset, and a minimum of 12-15 years of progressive senior leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising on reputation, risk, and complex issues, as well as leading government relations and public policy initiatives. Robust people leadership skills, exceptional strategic thinking, and a commitment to cooperative values are essential. Experience in financial services, cooperatives, or highly regulated sectors, and existing relationships with government stakeholders, are considered extra skills that set candidates apart. The role is suited to individuals who are strategic, credible, calm under pressure, values-driven, and people-focused, and who are ready to make a significant impact in a role that is deeply aligned with the company's mission and values.
