As a Clinical Genomics Technologist I, you will report directly to the Manager of Clinical Genomics at IWK Health, where you’ll play a pivotal role in laboratory operations. Your responsibilities encompass performing extensive molecular testing, conducting genomic analyses, and ensuring adherence to QA/QC protocols. You will work within a collaborative environment dedicated to precision medicine and excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform and document molecular genetic testing procedures
• Analyze genomic samples using sequencing technologies




• Prepare and manage cytogenetic specimens effectively
• Maintain laboratory equipment and address technical issues
• Adhere to health safety standards and protocols
Requirements:
• Enrollment or degree in Clinical Genetics Technology required
• Experience with NGS and Microarray techniques is preferred
• CSMLS certification necessary or eligibility
• NSCMLT license needed or eligible
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
