Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD / BIM Technician with experience working from point cloud data to support a growing portfolio of reality capture and digital modeling projects.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how to transform complex spatial data into clean, accurate, and usable deliverables for engineering, construction, asset management, and visualization workflows.

The successful candidate will work closely with our technical and engineering teams on projects involving:

- Laser scanning
- Digital twins
- Existing condition modeling
- Infrastructure and asset mapping

Responsibilities

- Process and work with point cloud datasets from terrestrial, aerial, and mobile scanning platforms
- Create and modify:

2D CAD drawings

As-built models and plans

- Extract geometry, measurements, and asset information from point clouds
- Register, clean, and organize spatial datasets




- Assist with model coordination and QA/QC
- Produce deliverables suitable for engineering, construction, and facility management workflows
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians
- Support reality capture workflows and digital documentation initiatives

Qualifications

Required

- Diploma or degree in:

Civil Engineering Technology

BIM Technology

CAD Technology

or related field

- Experience using:

Revit

AutoCAD

- Experience working with point cloud data
- Robust understanding of BIM workflows and existing condition modeling
- Ability to interpret construction and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

- Experience with:

Aura

Cyclone REGISTER 360

Cyclone 3DR

Navisworks

Recap Pro

- Knowledge of LiDAR, SLAM, or reality capture workflows
- Experience with infrastructure, roofing, building envelope, or industrial environments
- Field experience with laser scanning equipment is considered an asset
