Join the 9-8-8 team as a Mental Health Worker in Peterborough, Ontario, dedicated to providing crisis intervention. Support callers in distress through compassionate assessment and recovery planning.
As a full-time, on-site worker, you will be available for a rotating schedule, ensuring vital support for those experiencing emotional crises. You'll engage in evidence-based interventions, helping individuals transition to longer-term supports. Each interaction could serve as a pivotal moment of hope and safety for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct crisis assessments for callers
• Empower clients to enhance their safety
• Liaise with community agencies and emergency services
• Complete necessary documentation and assessments
• Provide mental health education to clients and caregivers
Requirements:
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in social sciences preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in mental health support
• Skills in trauma-informed care and crisis management
• Robust observational and active listening skills
• Proficient documentation and computer skills
