Job Opportunity

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. This role supervises the activities and provides direction to the Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.

Responsibilities

- In collaboration with the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care, implement AgeCare policies and procedures within the neighbourhood and provide input into the revision of procedures within the Home.
- Liaise with physicians and other members of the health care team, including external health care partners. Immediately notify the physician of any significant changes in resident status.
- Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
- Provide supervision and direction to the Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.
- Lead shift reports with members of the health care team, ensuring all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.
- Record significant changes in residents’ condition; ensure documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.
- Review and process physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible. Immediately communicate difficulties in processing physician orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.
- Provide first aid to staff members when necessary, initiate Employee Incident Reports and ensure completion.
- Ensure all medications required by residents are received; administer medications and treatments to residents as per residence procedures.

Qualifications

- A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long‑term care nursing,



including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long‑Term Care Act and Regulations, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal statutes.
- Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.

Location & Work Details

Location: Age Care, Monashee Mews, 2165 Norris Avenue, Lumby V0E 2G0.

Full‑time position (1.00 FTE). Employment Type: Regular Full Time. Hours of Work: 1900 – 0700.

Approximate start date: June 26, 2026.

Union membership is a condition of employment. Wage leveling salary: $41.42 – $55.91 per hour.
