Make a meaningful impact in mental health as a Peer Support Worker with CMHA Kenora. Engage with clients to provide essential support, advocacy, and resources focused on recovery and empowerment.
CMHA Kenora is offering a full time, permanent Peer Support position as part of their Assertive Community Treatment Team. This role requires insight from lived experience and aims to assist clients in overcoming stigma while fostering self-awareness. You’ll collaborate closely with both clients and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Share lived experiences to foster trust with clients
• Advocate for client rights and community initiatives
• Support clients with goal setting and decision-making
• Provide education on the mental health system to staff
• Help clients connect with essential resources
Requirements:
• Experience in an official peer support role for 1 year
• Applied knowledge of the Recovery Model
• Ability to work independently with clients
• Computer literacy and recording skills
• Ability to access public transportation
