Prevention Statistician & Compliance Analyst

Job Location: Moose Factory, ON
Position Summary:
The Statistician provides professional support to Prevention Services through the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data related to service delivery, program outcomes, and staff performance. This role supports evidence-informed decision-making, quality improvement, and accountability within Prevention Services, ensuring all data systems and reporting practices are aligned first and foremost with Moose Cree laws, regulations, and community-based standards. The position also supports compliance with applicable Child and Family Services Act (CYFSA) requirements and reporting standards, as well as internal agency policies and procedures. In keeping with Indigenous governance principles and Nation-based service delivery, the Statistician contributes to culturally relevant evaluation approaches and the ethical, respectful use of data to support families and community well-being.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Post Secondary diploma or degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Evaluation or related field or a combination of relevant education and 2 years working experience in related field
- Strong knowledge of Prevention Services, Moose Cree Laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, with working understanding of Child Welfare data systems and applicable CYFSA reporting, policy, and program evaluation frameworks.
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems, data integrity, and reporting procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and statistical/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong reporting and documentation abilities.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Ability to work independently while reporting to and taking direction from a supervisor.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical handling of sensitive information.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Indigenous governance, Prevention Services, child welfare, or health data reporting is an asset.
- Ability to speak Cree and knowledge of First Nations culture and community values is considered an asset
- Ensure all data collection, analysis, and reporting comply with OCAP® (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession) principles and organizational privacy standards.
- Monitor compliance with OCAP® policies by maintaining accurate records, conducting reviews,
and supporting ethical data governance practices.
- Analyze statistical data while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and adherence to community-approved data-sharing protocols.
- Valid Ontario Class G2 or G driver’s license is required.
Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
