Responsibilities

- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems
- Load system‑level controller software
- Conduct basic verification and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required documentation
- Keep management, contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues
- Calibrate devices requiring basic electronic test equipment
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation
- Document changes and provide as‑built documentation
- Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training
- Configure installation hardware design and software programming using established standards as required
- Provide detailed design and operation information to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors
- Coordinate job site for panel and field device physical locations




- Ensure installation follows Johnson Controls standards and project requirements
- Manage and complete loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required
- Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation
- Provide accurate project as‑built and commissioning documentation
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers
- Provide technical assistance to subcontractors
- Ensure delegated tasks are completed accurately, on time, billed within budget, and within scope of the contract
- Effectively communicate project status to management and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin
- Develop project plans and coordinate required resources to ensure timely and cost‑effective installation and completion of assigned projects
- Perform site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance
- Ensure owner/operator receives training and proper documentation and manuals for system operation
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Attend job progress meetings as required




- Coordinate with Project Engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost‑efficient solutions that exceed customer expectations
- Maintain highest regard for employee and subcontractor safety

Qualifications

- Technical Associate’s degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience in building automation and programming panel controls, preferably HVAC equipment
- Experience managing projects
- Ability to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audience
- Demonstrated ability to perform work independently
- Strong computer skills
- Preferred: Experience in the HVAC industry and programming controls
- Six plus years of project management experience
- Knowledge of project accounting and costing principles
- Relevant technical hands‑on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems

Hourly Rate

$30.8 – $42.56 per hour (subject to education, experience, and market data). Competitive benefits package included.
