Airswift is seeking a Millwright to work in Fort Saskatchewan, AB , on a 12-months contract with the possibility of extension, on a Monday to Friday schedule.
Role Accountability
Success is measured by:
- Timely, high‑quality Maintenance input across all project phases
- Effective construction turnover and Commissioning & Start‑Up (CSU) planning and execution
- Zero injuries, reportable releases, or significant events during Maintenance‑led field activities
Role Summary
The Senior Maintenance Specialist (Sr. MTCE Specialist) is a temporary leadership role supporting maintenance and growth capital projects through design, construction, commissioning, and close‑out. Reporting to the Maintenance Project Liaison Coordinator, the role provides expert Maintenance and CSU leadership to ensure secure, compliant, and operable asset handover to Operations. Responsibilities include mentoring Maintenance Liaisons, coordinating shutdown and CSU activities, developing maintenance strategies and PMs, and ensuring readiness of people, processes, and systems prior to start‑up.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Maintenance Leadership
- Provide Maintenance and CSU leadership across all project stages (design, construction, CSU, and close‑out)
- Mentor Maintenance Liaisons and build organizational capability
- Ensure timely and effective engagement of Maintenance resources
- Champion continuous improvement and standardization of Maintenance deliverables and design inputs
- Lead development and tracking of Maintenance KPIs
CSU & Asset Handover
- Plan, staff, and execute CSU activities to safely transition assets from construction to operations
- Ensure effective PSSR completion and structured handover to Operations
- Support start‑up and early operations with documentation, training, vendor access, and technical support
- Develop and deliver Staffing & Training Plans aligned with CSU and start‑up needs
- Partner closely with Project Management, Construction, Operations, Technical Services, and Business Development
- Support development of OPEX and CSU cost estimates
- Ensure compliance with company policies, PDS requirements, and Corporate Safe Operating Practices
Safety & Culture
- Champion a strong safety culture through disciplined planning, communication, and accountability
- Promote high standards of housekeeping, professionalism, and pride in facility operations
- Build a culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
