Role Overview

Reporting to the Controller, Financial Services, the Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical support to the Controller, Finance Business Partners (FBPs), and Director of Finance and Administration. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information through analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and investment accounting. The Financial Analyst supports the budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes for the Royal College, RCI (Royal College International), The Foundation (RCF) and the Employees' Retirement (Pension) Plan (ERP) contributing to effective financial management and decision-making.

Typical Day

As a Financial Analyst supporting the Finance team, you'll play a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses across multiple entities. Working closely with the Controller, you'll be responsible for investment accounting, compliance and reporting,



prepare financial reports for leadership, and support budgeting, forecasting, and annual external audits. You'll also contribute to continuous improvements that strengthen financial reporting and processes.

Key Qualifications and Skills

- Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting; experience in a not-for-profit environment is an asset.
- Competencies: Advance knowledge of Excel; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; excellent attention to detail.
- Skills: Financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis; ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Traits: Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and committed to accuracy.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and knowledge of MS 365 collaboration tools is an asset.
- Assets: Experience with Business Central, investment accounting. French verbal and written communication skills

Key Qualifications and Skills (French)

- Formation : Diplôme universitaire en comptabilité, en finances ou dans un domaine connexe
- Expérience : Au moins trois ans d'expérience directement liée à l'analyse financière, au rapprochement et à la production de rapports; l'expérience dans un environnement sans but lucratif est un atout.
- Compétences :



Connaissance approfondie du logiciel Excel; excellentes compétences en analyse et en résolution de problèmes; capacité de gérer de multiples priorités et de respecter les échéances; grand souci du détail.
- Habiletés : Rapports financiers, écritures de journal, rapprochements, budgétisation, prévisions et analyse des flux de trésorerie; capacité d'interpréter et de présenter clairement les données.
- Personnalité : Tendance à la collaboration, à la proactivité, à l'adaptabilité et à l'engagement à l'égard de la précision.
- Logiciels : Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); la connaissance des outils de collaboration MS 365 est un atout.
- Atouts : Expérience de Business Central et de la comptabilité des placements. Excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite.
