Job Description

As a valued member of our culinary team you will assist with plating and serving of meals, cleaning serving areas, and equipment, following established policies, procedures and standards.

Work Schedule

Work schedule is 6 AM-2 PM or 12 PM-8 PM, with availability every other weekend. No guaranteed scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

- Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
- Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits.
- Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher.
- Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
- Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.
- Assembles nourishment carts and stocks unit kitchenettes.
- Participates in facility meetings as assigned, attends in-service education programs.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications





- High School Diploma or Higher Academic Certification.
- Degree/Diploma in nutrition or Food Service Program is an asset.
- Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience with institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service environments is an asset.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position (standing for long periods of time, moderate to heavy lifting, fast paced environment).
- Ability to read and write in English and understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Compensation

Pay: $22.59 - $25.28 per hour.
