Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety-oriented and energetic team members to join our team at our Englehart, Ontario facility. As part of our production team, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process. This is an entry level position with the expectation and opportunity for career growth. You will begin on a Monday to Friday eight (8) hour shift schedule but will transition to a rotating twelve (12) hour 2-2-3 shift schedule which includes nights and weekends, with increased compensation.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a protected work environment for yourself and your colleagues (Safety Compliance).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and facility, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace (Housekeeping).
- Safely operate and monitor various production machines and mobile equipment according to standard operating procedures (Operate Machinery).
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and report any discrepancies immediately (Quality Control).
- Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products, ensuring proper storage and documentation (Material Handling).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce waste (Process Improvement).
- Work effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and address any issues that arise (Team Collaboration).
This role involves working in a mill setting with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
What Will Put You Ahead
- One (1) year or more of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working in a 24/7 shift work environment.
- Experience operating a forklift.
Benefits
A competitive compensation package includes a starting wage of $30.04/hour, shift differentials, a quarterly bonus plan, medical/dental/vision, pension, overtime opportunities, and paid time off.
Salary Range and Reason for Vacancy
The anticipated salary range for this position is $31.09/hour. This position is a backfill for an employee who vacated the role.
