Shape community engagement as an Advisor for the Indigenous and Rural Relations department in Wood Buffalo. Focus on Reconciliation initiatives and support cultural awareness efforts throughout the municipality.
The Advisor plays a crucial role in implementing the municipality's Path to Reconciliation. This position requires at least five years of experience in Indigenous relations, and the ability to interpret regulations and lead community consultations. You will collaborate with various departments, support economic prosperity projects, and engage in outreach initiatives while promoting strong relationships with Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on the advancement of Calls to Action
• Manage community engagement strategies and initiatives
• Develop protocols respecting Indigenous traditions
• Organize awareness campaigns and newsletters
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
• Degree in Indigenous Studies or relevant fields
• Five years of experience in Indigenous relations
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in various computer applications
• Valid Class Five Operator’s License
Contribute to meaningful relationships and promote reconciliation within the Wood Buffalo region.
