Electrical Engineer-in-Training – BBA Consultants

Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and drafters in the preparation of deliverables to BBA and client standards.
- Assist in the preparation of design deliverables under the supervision of the project engineers.
- Assist in calculations and studies.
- Assist in site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites.

Summary of Certifications and Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
- Member in good standing with EGBC and registered as an EIT.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in engineering.
- Familiarity with reading and preparing electrical schematics of various types (single lines, three lines, and interconnection drawings).




- Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications.
- Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations.
- Robust communication (verbal and written in English), interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Able to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA, and international destinations for project short‑term assignments.
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects.
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec.
- Ability to draft technical documents in both languages.
- Asset: Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV).
- Asset: Knowledge of electrical study software such as PSCAD, PSSE, CYME, PSSE, and EMTP‑RV.
