As a member of the Mechanical Operations team, the Operating Engineer reports to the Operations Head and manages the operation and maintenance of regulated mechanical equipment systems. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in building mechanical systems, including knowledge of HVAC and plumbing. The role emphasizes safety and operational efficiency, supporting UBC's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, and heat exchangers
• Perform regulatory inspections and maintain accurate records
• Conduct routine maintenance of mechanical equipment
• Utilize Building Management Systems for performance evaluation
• Respond to service and emergency calls as needed
Requirements:
• BC Fourth Class Power Engineer Certificate
• 3-5 years experience in building mechanical systems
• Valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license
• Knowledge of building operations and BAS
• Commitment to enhancing equity and diversity awareness
