About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Regulatory Approvals to join their Executive Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing enterprise leadership to secure and sustain all necessary federal, provincial, and Indigenous permissions and approvals for a significant long-term project. This includes leading the regulatory approvals portfolio, integrating regulatory affairs, impact assessment, and cross-functional inputs to ensure timely and defensible decisions that maintain compliance and protect the organization's reputation. The role demands a dynamic leader with a proven track record in achieving business goals, exceptional mentoring and coaching skills, and the ability to inspire confidence, credibility, and trust.
The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years' of progressive experience, with a minimum of 5 years' in a senior leadership role in regulatory affairs or approvals, and a thorough understanding of the Canadian nuclear regulatory regime. Key responsibilities for the Vice President, Regulatory Approvals include leading the impact and environmental assessment processes, engaging with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, and overseeing all aspects of regulatory interfaces. The role requires a strategic thinker with robust managerial courage, the ability to translate vision into measurable outcomes, and a commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion. Bilingualism in French and English is an asset, and the candidate should be adept at building strong relationships and influencing at an executive level.
